Noetic Sciences: Practices for Personal and Collective Transformation
with Cassi Vieten, Ph.D. and Lee Lipsenthal, MD
12-16 September 2011 (4 days, 5 nights)
Monday evening through Friday afternoon

If you wish to register over the phone, please call ++415.867.4698.

Noetic Sciences combine the powers of keen observation and logic with the deep authority of inner wisdom to see clearly, to heal, and to transform our lives and our world. Join integrative medicine physician Lee Lipsenthal, MD along with psychologist and mind-body medicine researcher Cassandra Vieten, PhD to learn practices grounded in science and the world’s wisdom traditions that support and sustain the transformative process in your own life and in the lives of those with whom you work. Building on a model of transformative change developed from over a decade of research, learn what stimulates positive transformations, where the process can be diverted, and how you can creatively engage with its unfolding with your whole self: mind, body and spirit. Our focus will be to renew, balance mind with heart, and realign with our deeper nature, a true source of healing and transformation.

Cassandra Vieten, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist, Director of Research at the Institute of Noetic Sciences, co-director of the Mind-Body Medicine Research Group at California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute, and co-president of the Institute for Spirituality and Psychology.  Her research focuses on spiritual practices and health, and has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, the State of California, and several private foundations. She is co-author of Living Deeply: The Art and Science of Transformation in Everyday Life (New Harbinger/Noetic Books 2008), and author of Mindful Motherhood: Practical Tools for Staying Sane During Pregnancy and Your Child's First Year (New Harbinger/Noetic Books 2009).

Lee Lipsenthal, MD, is a recognized leader, teacher and pioneer in the field of provider wellness. He is the author of Finding Balance in a Medical Life and the Finding Balance curricular materials. Lee is internationally known for his research work with Dr. Dean Ornish in preventive cardiology. He is also well known in the field of Integrative Medicine and served as the President of the American Board of Holistic Medicine. Pronto Seminars

PRONTO SEMINARS organizes and hosts continuing education (CE and CME) workshops and retreats in Italy. Distinguished faculty, participants and their families come from all over the world to enjoy high quality experiential content at a relaxed pace. We provide an affordable way to combine work, travel and relaxation.

Our classes are small and designed so that your afternoons and evenings are free to wander through the countryside, have a wonderful meal, or visit a museum. Our participants tell us that learning in this environment, at a relaxed pace, allows for a full integration of new material and practices.

We are known for creating an intimate setting where presenters are available in a less formal way and where colleagues from around the globe become friends and get to know each other while enjoying the delights of Italy. This model provides a contrast to large conferences, and our participants have encouraged us to continue in this direction.

In September 2012 we are looking forward to enjoying Tuscany and Umbria! Our venues are nestled in the hills, "off the beaten path", yet only 15 minutes by car from historic centers.

English is the main language of our workshops. Space is limited.
